Aysha was born and raised on unceded Bunurong lands based in Greater Dandenong, and is of Oromo and Turkish heritage. She is interested in creativity and community. When she is not doom-scrolling she does oil painting. Her work depicts what she sees around her, past and present. Inspired by Lynette Yiadom-Boakye and Ingrid Christiansen she hopes to work towards capturing quiet, sentimental moments and finding meaning in the ordinary.
