Art Therapy with Aysha

What to expect?

We usually start with a check-in and explore a moment from your week or a general feeling you’re experiencing. My role is to be present with you and co-create an environment that encourages you to share, reflect, and sit with moments of curiosity, discomfort, or significance. As the session unfolds, art materials are used to express emotions or explore how we hold them within ourselves. These creative expressions can take any form—visual art, movement, writing, or other mediums. As I companion you, I may also do some art making and note-taking alongside you in your exploration to offer back to you at the end of the session.

What is art therapy?

Expressive art therapies are focused on how we feel during the art making, and not about the art itself. The process helps us investigate what is there for us emotionally, in moments of pause, reflection and expression. Making art gives us a chance to tend to ourselves and deepens our emotional awareness. You don’t have to be creative or artistic to do art therapy. In fact, art therapy works much better when you are not concerned about what your work looks like in the end. Benefits include: emotional processing, non verbal expression, encourages reflection, explore complex emotions, reduce stress, experiment, learn new skills and externalise thoughts

Enquire now

I would love to work with everyone but cannot. I recommend you get on a few waitlists. There is a shortage of allied health supports in both private and public services and waits can often be long. I cannot guarantee when I will be able to offer supports and encourage people to connect with multiple options (list below) to ensure the timeliest support.
